Any Dream Will Do...

Lyrics:
I closed my eyes, drew back the curtain
To see for certain what I thought I knew
Far far away, someone was weeping
But the world was sleeping
Any dream will do
I wore my coat, with golden lining
Bright colours shining, wonderful and new
And in the east, the dawn was breaking
And the world was waking
Any dream will do
A crash of drums, a flash of light
My golden coat flew out of sight
The colours faded into darkness
I was left alone

May I return to the beginning
The light is dimming, and the dream is too
The world and I, we are still waiting
Still hesitating
Any dream will do

A crash of drums, a flash of light
My golden coat flew out of sight
The colours faded into darkness
I was left alone

May I return to the beginning
The light is dimming, and the dream is too
The world and I, we are still waiting
Still hesitating
Any dream will do

Joseph's Coat...

Not long now! So get practising 5M...

Lyrics:

Jacob wanted to show the world he loved his son

To make it clear that Joseph was the special one
So Jacob bought his son a coat
A multi-coloured coat to wear
Joseph's coat was elegant,
The cut was fine
The tasteful style was the
Ultimate in good design
And this is why it caught the eye
A king would stop and stare

And when Joseph tried it on
He knew his sheepskin days were gone
Such a dazzling coat of many colours
How he loved his coat of many colours

In a class above the rest
It even went well with his vest
Such a stunning coat of many colours
How he loved his coat of many colours
It was red and yellow and green and
Brown and blue

Joseph's brothers weren't
Too pleased with what they saw
We have never liked him
All that much before
And now this coat
Has got our goat
We feel life is unfair
And when Joseph graced the scene
His brothers turned a shade of green
His astounding clothing took the biscuit
Quite the smoothest person in the district

I look handsome, I look smart
I am walking work of art
Such a dazzling coat of many colours
How I love my coat of many colours

It was red and yellow and green and brown
And scarlet and black and ochre and peach
And ruby and olive and violet and fawn
And lilac and gold and chocolate and mauve
And cream and crimson and silver and rose
And azure and lemon and russet and grey
And purple and white and pink and orange
And red!

Goodbye

Hello for the final time from Mr Logue Year 5.

Well done for a good year (so far). I've had a really good time teaching you all and have enjoyed all the really exciting things we've done together.

I started teaching in St Margaret Mary's in September 1999 - Only a few of you were around then! I've seen a lot of changes at our school - most of them good.

You are really lucky to be able to go to a school like St Margaret Mary's and it is thought of as a really good school by moms and dads whose children don't go to our school, as well as other schools in the area. I've been to a few schools over the past year and not one of them looked as good as ours - including the one I'm going to! But the teachers at our school are really lucky too, to have such good children to work with - it's not like that at all schools!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that the teachers at our school are excellent and are totally committed to you - they ALWAYS have your best interests at the heart of everything you do.

You all have the opportunity to do really well in all you do, you will sometimes find it difficult but if you listen to your parents, teachers, yourselves and Jesus you will always succeed.

But most importantly of all - make sure that your work is always your best- don't forget, I'll be getting daily updates about how well you are all doing from Mrs Logue.

If Corpus Christi's children are half as good as the children at St Margaret Mary's then I'll be really happy.

God bless you all and good luck with your new teacher!!!!!!

Mr Logue :-p

Sorry the blogging has taken a back seat for the last few days. I've been in Scotland visiting friends and we all went to Edinburgh Zoo. My friends live in Stirling. I wonder what Stirling is most famous for - there's actually a few things so I'll leave it up to you to 'research'.

So what have you all been up to? I see that Mathletics has been a favourite this week - keep it up!

Please remember to leave nice messages as some of you aren't being the most complimentary about one another and of course they aren't going to get published so don't waste your time on silly messages...ok?

Anyway - I must dash as Joseph is tearing up my magazine that I bought from the shop 15 minutes ago!

Remember to reply with your half term stories...

The PENTAGONS.

Well done Pentagons you get 1000 house points - this will go a long way for the eventual prize winner at Easter.

To claim your 1000 house points you need to tell me the password which is 'ELEPHANT' and keep it a secret. You must also respond to this blog by writing a reply telling the other children in class how they might get 1000 house points next week!!!!!

Well done and I'll see you all on Monday - Have a fab weekend.

Who Are You? - Tukku Tukku or Samson?

Hello to you all Year 5.
For your weekend homework this week I'd like you to write a 'Day-In-The-Life Diary account of your chosen character from the Text we've been working on in English.

Our story comes from a book called: A THIEF IN THE VILLAGE And Other Stories and is written by James Berry.

I'll look forward to reading your diary account of these two characters.

Words for the weekend:
Empathy
Prediction
Inference

Don't forget to leave your homework in your bag on Sunday evening as you need to hand it in first thing on Monday morning.

Have a great weekend.
