SCIENCE - HOMEWORK

Hello Year 5.
This weekend I'd like you to research how plants reproduce. What I'm really looking for is the different types of vocabulary we will be using this half term in Science. Try and find a diagram of a plant that has been cut in half and labelled. List the words and create a glossary - just like the glossary in the back of the science text books.
We'll be displaying some of the vocabulary on our web site.

Have a great weekend and I'll see you 100 percenters on Monday

HOMEWORK - SYMMETRY

Hello Year 5,
We had server work done in school over the holiday and as per usual it's sent the computers and printers go a little bit fuzzy!
Anyway here is your homework for this week - reflective symmetry. We did have a look at it today (wednesday) and you all seemed to be pretty good at understanding what it's all about so here's some more.

You can click on it to open a larger version of it.

The homework needs to be handed to me on Friday.

Good Luck - See you soon,
Mr Logue :-)

What have you been up to?

Hello Year 5,
Sorry the blogging has taken a back seat for the last few days. I've been in Scotland visiting friends and we all went to Edinburgh Zoo. My friends live in Stirling. I wonder what Stirling is most famous for - there's actually a few things so I'll leave it up to you to 'research'.

So what have you all been up to? I see that Mathletics has been a favourite this week - keep it up!

Please remember to leave nice messages as some of you aren't being the most complimentary about one another and of course they aren't going to get published so don't waste your time on silly messages...ok?

Anyway - I must dash as Joseph is tearing up my magazine that I bought from the shop 15 minutes ago!

Remember to reply with your half term stories...

Year 5, I'm very disappointed with your commitment to the mathletics training - you promised me so much. Don't forget to also practise your world maths day mathletics for the 3rd march.

How Lucky Were Villa?

What a dreadful refereeing decision - giving villa a corner when it clearly hit a villa player. Which reminds me. Villa start the after school training every thursday from 3:05 - 4:15. The course runs every 6 weeks and costs £12 - thats £2 a session - COME ON YEAR 5 WE NEED A FOOTBALL TEAM FOR NEXT YEAR!!!!

Aren't our Containers Amazing ?

Well done to all of you today for making your containers - they look amazing!!

What I'd like you to do now is think about a design for them - you will probably need to do a bit of net research for this one and we have a few examples of ancient Greek art at school.

Bring your completed design into school on friday and we'll begin the process of decoration after the half term...

See you tomorrow

As year 5 are usually the most enthusiastic at doing this kind of thing the staffroom has been buzzing with excitement - wondering what fantastic hats year 5 will come up with!!!

The cost for doing so is £1 and all proceeds will go towards helping those poor people in Haiti.
